The aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspection hours at Harvey Gap and Rifle Gap State Park have changed to the fall schedule.
Inspection hours at Harvey Gap are now 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
Inspection hours at Rifle Gap will remain 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week until Sept. 15, when hours will be shortened to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
All trailered boats are required to be pre-inspected for ANS prior to launching.
Boaters are encouraged to obtain a seal with receipt when leaving in order to launch when inspectors are unavailable. Boats that launch without inspections are subject to a minimum fine of $50.
To protect Colorado's water, when leaving a lake or other waterway, boaters should:
• Clean all mud, plants or animals from the hull of the boat.
• Drain all of the water from the boat, live well and lower unit of the engine.
• Dry the boat and contents before the next launch.
