Osiecki graduates from UNC

Loren Osiecki, a 2005 Rifle High School graduate, graduated Saturday December 12th from the University of Northern Colorado. Osiecki spent four and a half years at UNC earning bachelors in Communication Studies and Journalism with a public relation emphasis. Osiecki also earned an associate's in Sociology.

Osiecki now plans to move to Prague, Czech Republic in April to pursue a career in teaching.

Rifle Walmart gives $3K to Toys for Tots

The Rifle Walmart SuperCenter presented representatives from Toys for Tots with a donation of $3,000 on Saturday, Dec. 20. Toys for Tots is accepting donations for area children at the Rifle Walmart, 1000 Airport Road. The Toys for Tots organization is in desperate need of donations this year as the need has skyrocketed in communities all over the Western Slope. Every little bit helps.

Rifle Community Foundation gives back

Over the past three years, the Rifle Community Foundation has distributed more than $76,000 in grants to area organizations in the areas of human services, education and community services. Just a few of the recipients have been: The Family Visitor Program, Friends of the Rifle Library, Rifle High School, Rifle Middle School, Wamsley Elementary School, Three Rivers Youth Football, Colorado Animal Rescue, Rifle Farmer's Market, Meals on Wheels, Bookcliffs Arts Council, RSVP, Community Integration Initiative, Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce, Kelly-Hanson Post Veteran's Memorial, Advocate Safehouse, Community Evaluation Team, Rifle Lions Club, LOVA, Rifle Historical Society and the Early Learning Fund.

The Rifle Community Foundation is an independent, public charity that enables individuals and organizations to create tax-deductible funds to benefit and strengthen the Rifle community and address a wide range of interests and needs.
