Garfield County has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan and the first set of public meetings will be held concurrently during the week of Nov. 18-21 throughout the county. A consultant team will facilitate a citizens' involvement process where participants will interactively plan for future growth and conceptually outline how the county should develop. A polling technique will also be used to extract values and vision ideas from the public during each meeting. Meetings are planned to be informative and provide an opportunity for citizens to be heard. Each meeting will have the same agenda and intent and will be conducted similarly using the same format and process. Meetings have been strategically located throughout the county to accommodate the needs of the community and will focus on information gathering and initial input from the community.
