Artist's Reception
The Parachute Branch Library would like to invite you to an Artist's Reception with the talented Jan Brieger-Scranton. Jan's pieces are breathtaking in their colors, textures, and originality. She uses different paints, dyes, papers, metals, man-made objects, and organic materials in her pieces. Jan says her pieces “come in whispers and images that develop after the initial painting process. I leave them to rest and then come back to each piece to see what has emerge, I may tear, or weave the papers before incorporating the objects I have selected for a particular work. I then combine several layers and as I integrate them the piece grows and becomes dimensional as each added layer enhances the whole.”
Jan Brieger-Scranton's artwork is currently on display at the Parachute Branch Library. The Artist's Reception for her will be held on Tuesday, July 28th from 7 to 8 p.m. It will be free and open to the public. Please stop in to discover local talent, meet the artist, and discover the story behind the art. For more information please call 285-9870.
