Project Clean Sweep was held Saturday, May 2nd. It was a localized clean-up from 1st to 5th street. Over 50 helpful volunteers of all ages assisted in picking up the pervasive trash including the hundreds of cigarette butts that littered the sidewalks and curbs; and planting and weeding of the many DDA planter boxers along the streets. And once again Gold Star Realty offered document shredding and Relay For Life sponsored a yummy bake sale! After the days hard work, all out volunteers enjoyed a free BBQ lunch hosted by our friends at Rib City Grill. Volunteers left the Clean Sweep with a goody bag of eco friendly items, a Project Clean Sweep tee shirt, a full belly, and, I suspect some laughs and good memories of the project. Project Clean Sweep would not have been possible had it not been for the generous donations and our sponsors. So please join me in thanking the following:
