Arts & Entertainment

• The Rifle Elks Club, 501 W. 5th St., hosts progressive bingo every Thursday that is open to the public. Early bird is at 6:30 p.m., regular bingo at 7:30 p.m. Info: 625-2195.

Farmers Market

• Downtown Rifle — The third annual Rifle Farmers Market on East Second Street, 4-8 p.m. through Sept. 28. Along with live music, around 12 vendors feature everything from fruits and vegetables to locally-made wine, jewelry, massage and crafts. New this year is a tent with ice shavings from Icy Treats and craft projects for the kids by the city's parks and recreation district. Equipment ranges from a helicopter to emergency vehicles, semis, cranes and the unveiling of Garfield County Sherifff’s Department’s armored rescue vehicle, “The Bearcat.” A mobile climbing wall and football toss will be provided by the Colorado Army National Guard.

• Sept. 27-28: Grand Valley Quilt Show, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sept. 27, noon - 3 p.m. on Sept. 28. Sponsored by the Grand Valley Historical Society and the Battlement Mesa Sew & Sew Quilters at the historic Battlement Mesa School House, 7235 County Road 300. Tours of the school house will also take place, and a featured quilt in the show will be the “Centennial Memory Quilt,” commemorating the 100-year anniversary of the Town of Parachute.
