Farmer’s Market

• Downtown Rifle — The third annual Rifle Farmer's Market on East Second Street, 4-8 p.m. through Sept. 28. Along with live music, around 12 vendors feature everything from fruits and vegetables to locally-made wine, jewelry, massage and crafts. New this year is a tent with ice shavings from Icy Treats and craft projects for the kids by the city's parks and recreation district. Meeting

• A site visit and program orientation for 20 single-family homes to be sold in the Ironbridge Mountain Community through Garfield County’s Affordable Housing Program takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The homes will be sold in two lotteries during the fall of 2008.
Deadline for applications is Friday, Aug. 29, 4 p.m. All units sold under this program are deed restricted with an annual appreciation. All units must be owner-occupied. No appointment is necessary, and fasting, while desirable, is not required. Free screenings are also available at your place of business (for 10 or more employees).
